On Twitter: @Li495Akiem Ma-ison Square Gar-en Even after acquiring Carmelo Anthony in a blockbuster trade with the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Knicks still have one major flaw in their formula...it still involves no hints of D. Denver Nuggets could've been able to tell us this, so perhaps we as Knicks fans were a little bit guilty for not figuring this out after the trade went down. Sure, 'Melo puts up big numbers in terms of points and rebounds on offense. He's been tagged as a defensive liability...one that frustrated many many Nugs fans during his time in Denver, especially that one year they were in the Conference Finals vs. the Lakers. Sure, the lack of defense is an issue. That's not the only one. It's also the fact that the Knicks are playing lackluster defense against teams that probably belong in the NCAA Tournament right now. The New York Knicks are losing to the Detroit Pistons. The New York Knicks are losing to the Indiana Pacers. The New York Knicks have lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers....TWICE!! A Cleveland Cavs team without...that guy...has beaten a Knicks team with Amare Stoudemire, Chauncey Billups, Carmelo Anthony, etc. twice! What's next? Them losing and giving up 100+ points to the team that wins the NCAA Championship?? What also doesn't get me is how they're losing with Chauncey Billups. You'd think he'd bring some of that championship/defensive prowess from 2004 and '05 from the Pistons and implant that into the Knicks. To be ...
