Retirement Coach - For a Smooth Transition

Retirement is often a time when one is not sure of how to handle the future. Sure, that's the deal with life at every bend - and that is the beauty of it - but there is much to ponder when one is about to retire. First of all, retirement can be planned or unplanned. For example, if you work for a company which separates employees after a certain age and makes it known in its personnel policy, then you would forced to follow it. There may be other ways and means of earning an income, but work, as it always was, would stop. Finding a second career is an ancillary subject.

If you are from that category of people who plan and foster a goal to retire by a certain age, then you will have probably planned better than your peers as to how you are going to maintain a fixed income - either through past investments or by some other means - and what you are going to do with your spare time. Sure, as Steve Martin said, you can do ANYTHING you want. But it would not hurt to have a few ideas as to where the bacon is going to come from and who would drive you to the hospital if you happen to need it. This is where the retirement coach comes in.

Transition Coaching

The retirement coach helps you plan for the changes that are about to come and hit you the day you wake up and realize that you do not have to gobble your breakfast and drive to work. It is not just about helping you decide what you can do with all your free time, whether you are going to take up a second career or not. The very first thing to be decided is how your lifestyle is going to be affected. Some retirement coaches advise their clients to begin planning early. It is a classic quote which dictates that your savings should start with your very first paycheck. And that is not at all absurd. It is very do-able!

Retirement Coach - For a Smooth Transition

Retirement coaches help you figure out your expenses and plan on how you are going to meet them. Some people plan to relocate to a less noisy, pleasanter environment, perhaps a suburban county. There will probably be fewer purchases and some might receive pension from their erstwhile employers. Planning from an early stage means you will have few pressing questions when the time comes to hang up your boots.
