Recorded on April 14, 2011, this was the sixth webinar in the "Achieving Excellence and Innovation in Family, School, and Community Engagement" (FSCE) series. This webinar explored how and why smooth transitions among early learning environments are critical for school readiness and are the first step toward preparing students for success in college and career. Presenters focused on what it takes to foster continuity as children move from early learning programs to preschool to kindergarten, and discussed the specific roles of early learning programs, schools, and families in preparing young children to enter school ready for success. This webinar highlighted innovative practices, explored the range of supports and services offered to young children and their families, and emphasized how to help families understand how to remain involved in their child's education as the child moves into the early school grades. Jacqueline Jones from the US Department of Education discussed the importance of successful early transitions to education reform. Sharon Ritchie from FirstSchool, a research-based preK--3rd grade initiative, discussed "seamless education" and how to use data to improve practice. Is it Time For Some R&R?

What does R&R really mean and have you ever taken the time to do it? I think of "R&R" as "Rest" and "Reassess"; a little different spin on what we usually hear. Are you finding yourself caught just putting out fires? Is your desk piled with projects? Is your calendar full of appointments? People dealing with mid-life transitions, career challenges, parenting and constant stress issues know these feelings all too well.

We have too many lists of "things to do". We've over-committed. We hear stories and read articles about slowing down time by doing the things that really matter, creating memories and taking the time to see friends and family. Life Work Balance, Stress Management, Time Management--how many books and articles have been written about these topics?

Transition Coaching

Reorganization and re-prioritizing. Do you feel the urge to really step back and re-evaluate what you're doing and how you're spending your time?

Is it Time For Some R&R?

Resting - this is one of Life's greatest healers. My mother-in-law has taken a nap everyday, since I've known her. She actually gets into bed and reads or sleeps for 30-45 min. without fail, everyday. One day when my boys were 2, 4, and 6 yrs. old, I remember thinking how did she just go lie down in the middle of all this chaos? There was no way this was going to work for me! Why didn't I lie down when the boys were taking their naps? Oh, I had too much "work" to do, too much laundry, too many clients to deal with, too many phone calls to make, too much everything else to do!! Now, thirty years later, I've discovered the rejuvenation effect of the "power nap". Many of my executive coaching clients, I advise to set an egg timer for fifteen minutes, hold all calls, lock their office door and lay down on the floor. What a difference fifteen minutes of peace can make in the rest of your day. Your priorities seem to stay in alignment better. You have more patience. You definitely don't feel as much of a martyr, like "you're doing all of the work"!

Taking time out regularly is one of the wonder drugs for peace. Try it--regularly.

Reassessing - Getting the facts, evaluating the situation, rethinking our approach to a problem, stepping back is always good to make sure we're on the right path for what we know at the time. Reassessing our values, our motivations for how we spend our time is the only way we will be able to look back and know that we created our life and planned our days and memories the way we wanted them to be. You must create your own Life or Life will create it for you. Take the time to look at your days and how you spend your time at least once a week and no less than once a month; more often if you are feeling stressed. You know the phrase, "Life is not a dress rehearsal", so make this your best show ever!!

R&R = plan this in your Life and see what a difference it makes!

Can An Ex-Pharmaceutical Rep Transition Into Medical Device Sales?

With the decimation of pharmaceutical sales forces of the last few years, the medical sales job market has been flooded with out-of-work, but still talented, pharmaceutical sales reps looking for new work. As a medical sales recruiter, I've seen firsthand what pharma reps face in that struggle. But more importantly, as a career coach, I have been able to coach a number of candidates through this process to success.

Pharmaceutical sales reps face an especially difficult time when going after medical device sales jobs. Hiring managers often hold some prejudices about them, such as the perception is that they can't perform in a "real" sales process.

Transition Coaching

The key here is that if you are a former pharma rep looking to move into medical device sales, you have to quit talking in terms of "we," and focus more on the individual. What have you done? What will you do? Medical device sales jobs are much less team-focused, and sales reps are individually accountable.

Can An Ex-Pharmaceutical Rep Transition Into Medical Device Sales?

As in any job interview, you have to speak to the issues the hiring manager is most concerned with:

Can you do the job? Will you do the job? Do you understand how to be successful in the job? Will hiring you pose a risk to the hiring manager's own continued employment?

The best way to communicate these to a hiring manager is with a 30/60/90-day plan: it's a written outline of what you will do in the first 3 months on the job. It's a plan of attack, and a strategy for success. It helps you be especially strong in the interview.

You also have to demonstrate hard-hitting sales skills. The hiring manager must understand that you know how to ask the difficult questions, and that you can close the sale. You have to be able to take rejection well, and you must understand that you will be expected to produce results-if you don't, you'll be terminated from your position.

If you really want to separate yourself from other candidates, find a career coach. Career coaching is the most effective way for you to re-package yourself and market yourself as a top-notch candidate.

Things Change, People Transition

What is transition? How is it different from change or is it different? Why does it matter? In fact, change and transition are different. Change and transition are also related. Change is a word whose definition we tend to more easily understand: "to make something different." Transition is a bit more complex: "a movement, development, or evolution from one form or stage to another."

William Bridges captures the definition best in his book "Transitions Making Sense of Life's Changes," when he says,

Transition Coaching

"Change is your move to a new city or your shift to a new job. It is the birth of your new baby or the death of your father...In other words, change is situational. Transition, on the other hand, is psychological. It is not those events, but rather the inner re-orientation and self-redefinition that you have to go through in order to incorporate any of those changes into your life...Unless transition happens, the change won't work, because it doesn't 'take.'"

Things Change, People Transition

Sometimes change comes first, initiating a transition. Take for example relocation. You just moved across the country or far enough North, South, East, West to feel like a big move. You are learning a new career or a different job, creating a new community, meeting new friends, trying to find a new doctor, dentist, drycleaner... You are starting over. While the move came first, the letting go of an old life (transition) followed in service of creating the new life, the new you.

Sometimes transition comes first, requiring a change. Take for example, again, relocation. Maybe the change, the relocation, was initiated by an internal want. Maybe the need for something different or more was so strong that it was the catalyst for your decision to relocate, to pursue a different career or new job or new place to live.

Bottom line, change is typically external and situational whereas transition is internal, involving a letting go of an old way of being and behaving so that a new, more relevant you can emerge.

Many of us feel tremendous change and transition right now because of the instability felt in the world at large and yet, transition has always been (and will always be) a part of our lives. We transition from the bottle to a cup, from a crib to a big bed, from home to school, from childhood to adolescence, to college, to career, to marriage, to parent, to health issues big and small, to changing careers, to changing friendships, to empty nest, to divorce, to death, to parents of our parents - the list goes on.

The way in which we know ourselves fades, is no longer wholly relevant and so we must create a new identity which incorporates this change or new situation. In every transition there is an ending (who we were) and a subsequent beginning (who we will be) and in between a very messy period. This isn't to say that every fiber of our being changes, it doesn't as likely our value system is static.

In the mess or gray area comes opportunity. We often shy away from the mess because it's unclear, uncertain, unstructured, well, just plain messy. And yet, if we reframe our understanding and thinking, the messiness can be an opportunity for creativity, for considering new possibilities and new ways of being. There really is opportunity in change, and that doesn't mean it's easy. Transition is difficult. How difficult? The level of difficulty is impacted by the significance of the change, our innate temperament, attitude, and resiliency, as well as our learned methods for stress management. Whether you realize that you are in the middle of a transition or whether something about your life simply feels "off," what do you do?

Get Clarity.
What do I know to be true? What am I feeling? What behaviors no longer fit or serve me? What do I need to let go of...about what I've believed or assumed, about how I've always been or seen myself? What do I want most out of life?

Recognize Choice.
What choices (possibilities) do I have surrounding this change or situation? How might my value system help me sort through the choices? What might I do to create a new, more relevant me?

Direct Change.
Commit to letting go of old behaviors, decide which new ways of being now serve you, define necessary resources, and create a plan to implement. Act, in support of the new you required of this transition.

The danger in neglecting the internal transition is becoming someone who moves from change to change. This is the person who moves from relationship to relationship or from job to job, using change to avoid transition. This is the person who leaves a job abruptly complaining about the terrible manager rather than stopping to notice a career pattern, rather than looking to see what it is about oneself that continues to find such bosses (or relationships), again and again.

Life brings us two constants, change and transition. Change will only intensify as we travel through the 21st century. How do you want to deal with the lifetime of change and transition ahead? What if you considered change from a perspective of optimism and opportunity? What if you entered into transition being more planful and intentional? Or, what if you decide to simply move from change to change without ever really taking a moment to reflect on the impact, or the necessary transition, preferring to react to the external world and ignore your internal world? Do you wash and wax your car and completely ignore the engine? You decide.

Effective Cross-Country and Track Workouts

As a four-year varsity runner for Clarkston High School, I've had the unique pleasure of engaging in a variety of running workouts. My coach, Michael Taylor, always believed that "A race is won or lost in practice." And since winning is a lot more fun than losing, here are some workouts that are guaranteed to aid your runners come race day.

The Distance route

Transition Coaching

A classic-- Simple, effective early in the season, and kind to the slightly injured runner. This is the most basic type of workout, where runners are assigned a familiar route, usually along sidewalks and roads, and are tasked with keeping a moderate pace for anywhere from five to fifteen miles. Runners should generally choose routes around three times the length of their race. Runners typically benefit most from these workouts when they are tasked with holding a specific pace through the entire workout, and the miles built up through these workouts will prevent injury in other, more intense workouts, some of which are listed below. This kind of workout is aerobic, which means that the lungs, due to the moderate pace, are able to get enough air to keep the body going. This means that most of the stress and pain is focused on the leg muscles as they continue to wear and tear for somewhere around an hour, unlike the...

Effective Cross-Country and Track Workouts

Interval Workout

The interval workout is, in my experience as a runner, the most difficult, beneficial workout for the runner mid-season, after getting in shape with the aforementioned distance workouts. In an interval workout, a set amount of distance or time is determined that the runner must run for. These distances or times are shorter than the distance workouts, commonly four-hundred meters, half miles, miles, two miles, and so on. However, these distances are run multiple times with an interval of rest in between, hence the name "Interval Workout." It is generally advised to allow for at least the same amount of time resting as running. As an example, a workout could be five repeat miles at five-forty pace with six minutes of rest in between every repeat. These workouts are typically run on a track where timing and supervision is easy for the coach, though there are many instances where it may be more beneficial to run these repeats on a hilly course, sandy Beach, or any other alternate course for more varied training. Due to the difficult nature of these workouts, injured runners may find it difficult to cope with their injuries and should cease running immediately if said injuries begin to aggravate.

Team Lane Drill

One of the more interesting workouts my coach has ever baited us into, the Team Lane Drill is a great way to build both strong muscles and team unity. This workout is performed on a track with teams of eight. The teams themselves don't compete, so consider one single team for the following explanation. All eight runners take one of the eight lanes. The runner in the innermost lane is the pace-setter and no runner is allowed to pass him in any of the other seven lanes. The coach issues a pace he would like the pacer to run, usually a moderate run, and the eight runners begin running around the track. The goal of the workout is for all eight runners to remain side-by-side, shoulder-to-shoulder for a few laps around the track. The trick of the workout however, is that every two hundred meters, the runners hit a turn around the track and the runners in the outermost lane must sprint in order to remain shoulder-to-shoulder with the pace-setter in the innermost lane. obviously, the outermost runners run the hardest, so in order to keep things fair, the runners will all transition one lane outward after every turn. The outermost runner will transition into the innermost lane and become the pace-setter, giving him a much-deserved break. This is a surprisingly difficult workout, and as runners begin to fall behind the pace-setter, don't be surprised to find fellow teammates offering encouragement to keep the group together, hence the team-building aspect of the workout. Multiple eight-man teams may be running at any one time in order to allow an entire cross-country/track team to participate in the workout.

The Pacing Day

Here we are, after months of difficult training and hard workouts, a competitive meet is just around the corner, or more specifically, tomorrow. But what to do? No coach wants to waste a day of practice with easy jogging, but with competition the following day, it would be foolish to run a tough workout and tire the runners. The answer? Make it a pace finding day! When running in a meet, it's important for runners to be confident in their ability to hold a planned pace and reach a goal time. Therefore, the day prior to a meet, it is often wise to issue an easy interval workout where each runner attempts to run their "race-pace" for a short distance, possibly a lap or so. In this way, the runners are not left tired-- they're left with a strengthened knowledge of the pace they would like to run in competition the following day in order to achieve their individual goals.

Obviously, these are only a few of the many workouts available to the Cross-Country/Track coach. Try to get creative with workouts, changing the distances, paces, and routes in order to keep your runners engaged in their sport. Also, avoid running the same type of workout too often, as muscles tend to grow and strengthen less when they're challenged in unusual or new workouts. Meets truly are won in practice, so give your team a running start with the above workouts and some of your own, original creations.

How to Become a Wellness Coach

Since switching careers in 2005 I've found it absolutely astonishing the amount of questions I continually get from people interested in becoming a wellness coach. Back when I was in the environmental software industry I can't remember one time that a person had asked me to provide an informational interview! Now it seems that I get a request for this at least monthly - and I love sharing what I do.

With all these requests in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience with wellness coaching, provide some background on what exactly coaching is, and give those of you with interest in learning more a foundation for making decisions as to how you might want to move forward.

Transition Coaching

What is a Wellness Coach?

How to Become a Wellness Coach

This is an excellent question and a good starting point for these discussions. 'Wellness' has become a popular word as of late - and it carries with it a vast array of meanings based on who you talk to. Wellness coaches support their clients in creating lifestyle change such that they get more of their definition of wellness into their lives. You notice that I emphasize a key element of coaching is to listen to and understand how the client defines wellness as that is really what is important to improve their life.

How does a Wellness Coach differ from a Nutritionist or Trainer?

There are many Wellness Coaches that are nutritionists and personal trainers, however not all trainers and nutritionists are Wellness Coaches (and vice versa). The biggest difference is the approach that is taken towards achieving goals. A personal trainer is typically hired to provide guidance, motivation, education, hands on support and to tell you how to achieve your goals. This support is very appropriate in many cases. A nutritionist has a similar function, they are trained to provide information, guidance and design a recipe for success when someone has very specific dietary needs and goals. Again, they serve a fantastic role in supporting their clients through the questions they have.

A Wellness Coach takes a much different approach when working with clients. Fundamentally a coach assumes that you have your own answers. Certainly there are opportunities for education and sharing information when appropriate (and this information should be shared only in the coaches areas of expertise), however the focus of a wellness coach is one of empowering the client to clearly see for themselves the most appropriate path forward such that they can make sustainable, long term lifestyle changes. This is much different than telling them what they need to do today. It involves discussing goals, a vision, and designing a plan together.

A wellness coach will ask empowering questions to the client that re-enforce their compelling reasons to make healthy lifestyle decisions rather than telling them the reason why they should make change. A coach will provide tools for motivation, goal setting, self discovery and embrace the fact that no two clients will need to have the same approach in making lifestyle change. As you can see the quality and depth of conversation that a wellness coach and a trainer will be very different.

Corporate and Private opportunities for Wellness Coaching?

10 years ago, there were very few people operating under the title of 'Wellness Coach'. For that matter the term 'Life Coach' was extremely rare to come by as well - both are careers that have been recognized in the mainstream today. Many Wellness Coaches operate their own business. They draw from their background, market themselves, and present a coaching offering to clients that benefit from their services. Typically a wellness coach will work with clients in the area of nutrition, exercise, weight control, stress management, and some coach on areas of relationships, sleep quality, disease management, and life balance. If you are interested in knowing the specific areas that a coach focuses on - refer to his/her biography, as the topics can vary. Generally speaking, unless the coach is branching out into other talents/markets, they tend to focus on these primary areas.

With the growing trends towards increased longevity and increased waist size - it seems that the market for these talents would be huge. The truth is that there is a huge need - however as a new occupation just gaining recognition in the mainstream society you still see relatively few wellness coaches in relation to conventional healthcare practitioners, nutritionists, trainers etc. This is often why you see many coaches wear multiple hats.

Many more opportunities are beginning to arise in the corporate environment. A number of progressive companies (including Sutter Health in Northern California) are recognizing the value of designing healthy lifestyle's as a preventative measure such to curb escalating health care costs. A handful of employers are offering wellness coaching programs as an employee incentive. Its simply good business to show this commitment to their employees. Implementing Wellness Coaching programs creates a corporate culture of health and wellness, it facilitates learning, and most importantly is welcomed by employees looking for the key to making sustainable lifestyle changes.

For those wondering if they can get a job with a company offering these services, you may find that these corporate jobs at the moment are few and far between (but there are always opportunities if you create them). I personally expect a number of new wellness initiatives to explode in corporate America within the next decade. A large part of this will be varieties of wellness coaching programs.

What kind of training do you need to be a Wellness Coach?

A good question to ask is what differentiates a wellness coach from a nutritionist or trainer. The fact of the matter is that there are no 'requirements' for an individual to label their business as 'coaching'. We see this trend in executive coaching, life coaching, business coaching, and real estate coaching. There are no laws that require a certain certification to call yourself a coach in any field! So go ahead and call yourself a coach - but be ready to explain why you are a coach and not a trainer etc. when someone asks (obviously this is not my recommendation).

So that is interesting - then what kind of training do I typically need. Well a strong foundation in nutrition, exercise physiology, stress management, or combination of these will be a great starting point. To truly master coaching, I would recommend going through an accredited coach training program to learn the keys to communicating as a coach and supporting people in finding their own answers. Typically one of these courses takes 12 months to 3 years as they require a number of practical application hours as well. There are a variety of programs with different emphasis, so my suggestion is to find one that fits well with you.

There are programs specifically tailored for wellness coaches to learn the fundamentals of coaching in relation to health and wellness. These tend to be shorter courses (on the range of 3-6 months) and are not accredited by the major credentialing organizations. The most popular example is wellcoaches - an online/on phone training program that gives you the basics and foundation of becoming a coach. This is a great start - my personal preference is a full life coach training program as it goes into great depth for developing listening schools and understanding client perspectives and I found the program I attended to be absolutely fantastic.

As a side note - I strongly believe that within the next 10 years we will also see a change in the coaching industry. The International Coach Federation and other credentialing agencies are pushing strongly to honor and recognize the title of 'Coach' or- similar to that of RDA, MFT etc. The current credentials available through the ICF are ACC (associate certified coach), PCC (professional certified coach) and MCC (master certified coach).

The Future of Wellness Coaching

Having a private business and working in the corporate environment I've seen huge changes in the past couple years alone. I have no reason to believe that wellness coaching will slow its pace of growth. As I introduced this article, I mentioned how often I am asked the question of what it is that I do and how can I get involved. This is exciting to me as it shows me how much interest and concern there is in changing our countries wellness perspective. This is exciting to me and seeing the shift in our mentality and lifestyle to one of prevention rather than treatment is a huge step in the right direction.

For those of you interested in knowing more about coaching, there are numerous articles posted throughout this website on coaching models, how to create lifestyle change and personal development. I hope you find these resources useful in your journey in wellness.

Organizational Decision Making Is A Strategic Process

The organizational decision making process involves proper and efficient implementation of strategic plans and methods to achieve desired business objective. Let's examine some key areas that affect the overall process.

Often one difficulty facing an organization is that multiple divisions are involved in the overall decision making process. Making a decision can have different implications for each respective division. Gaining agreement from all stakeholders can be a challenge. When a companies overall strategy depends on the support of all business units, organization wide support is crucial.

Transition Coaching

Key strategic evaluation and planning is crucial. This planning needs to address the overall strategic goals of the organization but also the end effects that impact workers outside of the decision chain. Organizational dysfunction and worker resistance can result if proper thought and attention is not directed towards front line efforts. Organizational change professional deal specifically with these issues. Unifying the company at all levels is very important. A failure to calculate and anticipate the implications of key decisions can derail a companies goals and objectives.

Organizational Decision Making Is A Strategic Process

Organizational change management and planning processes seek to address the implications that a change in one input can have on the corresponding output. The evaluation and process evaluation that comprises part of the change management approach seeks to measure and anticipate the effect strategic decisions will have on company resources and labor. This permits the careful monitoring and benchmarking to adjust process as required to more closely align organizational objectives with desired outcomes.

With the businesses of today facing shortened product lifecycles, organizations are facing intense competitive pressures to build market share to stay ahead of rivals. Process changes, the introduction of new and improved disruptive technologies are forcing companies to adapt new business goals and objectives in shortened timeframes. This places corresponding stresses on all levels of the organization. As business units are forced to respond to top level management goals, flexibility has become a modern day requirement.

Organizational change management is a growing discipline to help managers become better positioned to understand how the decision making process can affect individuals at a cognitive level. Performance improvement is intimately linked to this. As companies transition into the future, change management is expected to become increasingly important.

How to Market Yourself Effectively

It doesn't matter whether you run your own business, are an employee or job seeker, if you market yourself well, you will achieve success. Marketing is about finding your unique abilities and being able to communicate these to others effectively.

You may have heard of the saying "people buy people", so take the opportunity to let people know why they should promote you, employ you or buy from you. Here are my tips to market yourself effectively:

Transition Coaching

1. Write down a list of your strengths and skills and use these as selling points when you meet new people. What is unique about you? What sets you apart from anyone else? How can you make sure you market yourself at every opportunity?

How to Market Yourself Effectively

2. Develop a succinct message that you can share with others that takes about 10-20 seconds to deliver. In business, this is known as an elevator speech - who you are and what you can do for others. Design and practice your message.

3. Remember that every time you communicate, this is the opportunity to make an impact. Make sure that anything you put in writing, such as a letter or CV is clear, concise and easy to read. And remember to include the strengths you have identified above.

4. You also communicate by what you wear and whether it is appropriate for the occasion. You may wish to research the dress code and give yourself plenty of time to decide what to wear. Choose your outfit wisely with the appropriate accessories, and remember to clean your shoes!

5. Make a great first impression. People tend to make a first impression of you within the first few minutes of meeting you. When you meet new people, use appropriate eye contact, a firm handshake, and smile!

6. Preparation is key. Whether you are going to a networking event or a job interview, it is important to prepare in advance. Plan the journey before you leave, know who you are going to meet and plan what you are going to say.

How to Write and Say a 30-60 Second Introduction

Have you attended a meeting or have been at a social gathering and someone asks: "What do you do?" One of the best ways to introduce yourself and let people get to know you, and your business is by having a unique message or self-introduction that is short and memorable.

Your self-introduction is sometimes called an "elevator speech- - a 30-60-second introduction of you. The reason is it called "an elevator speech" is that is the approximate time you have riding between floors on an elevator to talk with someone. It you met someone on an elevator who wanted to know who you are, and what you do, you only have about 30- 60 seconds until the elevator stops at the next floor to introduce yourself and let them know who you work with, or what you do, and the services/product you offer.

Transition Coaching

Your self-introduction needs to be stated in your words, that you feel comfortable telling someone who you are, whether you're on the elevator, attending a social gathering, or attending a meeting. Your introduction lets people learn who you are and decide if they have something in common with you, as well as if they might need or know someone who needs the service/product you offer.

How to Write and Say a 30-60 Second Introduction

Your introduction should be tailored to the specific people you are meeting.

Your self-introduction is usually a couple sentences that describe a concise summary of:

1 Who you are, and what you do - -and perhaps the service or product you offer

2 why that person may need what you offer, and

3 what distinguishes you and your service or product over others that provides the same service/product.

How To Develop a Self Introduction

Keep your introduction brief. It's an opener, not a complete description of everything you do.

Your 30-60 Second Introduction should be:

1 short

2 concise

3 relevant

4 attention grabbing

5 persuasive

6 a call to action

Your introduction may not appeal to everyone - but that's the point. It's a narrowly targeted message. It's a way of "lasering" who you are and not trying to appeal to everyone you meet. This introduction when stated at networking or business meetings and social events, lets others know who you are, what you do, and decide if they want to learn more about you, and or do business with you.

Five- Step Formula for a Writing Your 30-60-Second Introduction for Business or Networking Meetings

Here is a process to develop your self introduction when attending business or networking meetings. It describes who you serve and what you help them do:

(See the example of what to say typed in blue font below each step.)

1) Name your target market. Start by stating specifically who you work with - who you serve, or what you do.

"I work with empty nesters and baby boomers and professional

2) Describe the main problem, challenge, frustration or need that they have. Describe emotions that your client experiences, by tapping into a deeper need or issue that is of real concern for them.

...who are exhausted and overwhelmed with daily routines, who are in a toxic relationship with a spouse, family, co-worker, and are feeling stressed out with their job.career....

3) Describe your solution that will reduce or solve that problem in terms that person can understand. Describe the result s/he can expect to get from working with you. Clearly define how your service or product leads to a long-lasting result or 'bottom line' dollar impact for your client. Use words that will be meaningful to them. State something that will help the person save time, money or solve a particular problem.

I help clients identify what personal or professional goals they want to achieve that will eliminate a problem they have.

4) Add something that is unique about your services or products - something that would differentiate your and make you stand out from your competitors. This is where you help them understand why they would choose you over others who provide a similar service. It might be a method, process, assessment or model you have developed, or specific results you have helped clients achieve.

We work together to get through this as a team and solve these problems.

5) State a call to action - Say a short sentence that requests the listener to

take action now.
